Homeless

See the individual.

In our conversations with those who have found themselves without a home, many find that one of the hardest aspects is the way in which people treat them - choosing not to see them and walk by without a second glance. This pilot photography project was designed in order to encourage people to see each and every person as an individual rather than simply seeing a ‘Homeless’ group of people.

“What I’d say is just give them respect, look them in the eyes, just say alright; you don’t have to give them money, you don’t have to give them anything, look at them like they’re a human being. Acknowledge them, don’t just brush them off or just look at them like they’re nothing because that can hurt you know.” - Harry, homeless for 3 years.

We created a great range of engaging deliverables for this project:

Watch our conversation with Harry

• Photographic portraiture for live and virtual exhibitions.

• Short and long themed films used at film festivals and conferences.

• Video interviews of homeless individuals for educational purposes and marketing.

• Images/video stories for use on social media to raise awareness.

• Promos of the film, reels and stills for social media.

This project was used extensively by the National Lottery to highlight the impact of homelessness nationwide.
